Within the framework of the Act. 1.2 the workshop on monitoring, vulnerable zones and policy option took place on the calender week 28 from 7th to 8th of July 2009 with the participation of the representative from the EU Commission.

The study visit to Austria took place from 15th to 20th of June 2009. The visit focused on the implementation of the Nitrates Directive in Austria, institutional and legislative issues. Several farm visits were also included to see how Austrian farmers deal with the relevant directive.

The first Regional Workshop took place from the 27th to 30th of April 2009 in Izmir. More than 80 participants especially from the provincial directorates could be welcomed by our project leaders Dr. Ömer Faruk Mutlu and Karl Schwaiger.

Activity 3.3 Field Trip to “Malatya and Elazig” from the 25th to 27th of March 2009 The first Field Trip to “Malatya and Elazig” took place from the 25th to the 27th of March 2009. The main objective of this field trip was to give to our Short Term Experts (PL Karl SCHWAIGER (AT), Junior PL Peter van der GOOT (NL), CL1 Edith HÖDL-KREUZBAUER (AT) and CL3 Jan van RHEENEN (NL)), an overview about agriculture and agricultural practices in the Anatolian Region.
